Who we are

Founded in 2024

IMN.Expert is a boutique intelligence and communications consultancy focused on one of the world's most consequential — and least understood — intersections: post-Soviet energy markets and the global economy that depends on them.

We don't cover everything. We go deep where others stay shallow.

Our Purpose

Our Purpose

Post-Soviet energy markets move billions of dollars, shape geopolitical alliances and determine supply chains that reach every corner of the world. Yet for most outside observers, they remain opaque — by design.

IMN.Expert exists to change that. We give corporations, investors and institutions the ground-level intelligence they need to make real decisions — and we help post-Soviet companies communicate their story to the world in language it understands.

Our Approach

We don't produce generic reports. We connect clients with analysts who actually work these markets — people who publish in Foreign Policy, Forbes and specialist energy media, and who understand how decisions get made on both sides of the divide.

Our value is not volume. It is access, precision and trust built over two decades on both sides of one of the world's most complex fault lines.

Our Team & Leadership

IMN.Expert works with a select network of independent analysts with active columns in Foreign Policy, Forbes, WSJ and other top media. We don't publish their names — we connect you with the right person for your specific question.

ILya Mitasov

Founder & Executive Director

Twenty years navigating governments, corporations and media across Russia, Kazakhstan, Azerbaijan and the wider post-Soviet region. Someone who understands how decisions actually get made on both sides, and who has spent two decades building the relationships that make that understanding useful.

He founded IMN.Expert around a simple insight: in a world of fracturing alliances and opaque markets, the most valuable thing is not more data. It is the right interpretation, from someone who has been inside the room.
